Rain God in Uniform and The Seven Departing Tribes

This work depicts elements of Meso-American and Nahua mythology, including the split tree of Tamoanchan, the location of paradise, the origin of humanity and disruption.  The seven departing tribes reflect the tribes from seven caves and canyons referred to and illustrated in the Popul Vuh.

Tlaloc is the lord of celestial waters, lightning, hail, the patron of land worker, and was one of most ancient and important Aztecan deities.

Guillermo's works use the color palate of of the early 1500's illustrations of the Mayan' sacred text.
