About Us

We, Chris Morin and LaRita Chapman, concluded our teaching careers at the end of the 2015-16 school year in Chinle, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation. Prior to that, we taught in Alaska. Raven Makes Gallery opened in near Bend, in Sisters, Oregon on July 1st, 2016.

Our years teaching in Alaska and the Navajo Nation of Arizona allowed us to develop lasting relationships with artists and their families. American Indian and First Nations Peoples' awareness and deep cultural connections to the natural and spiritual world is richly expressed in their art. This appreciation led us to open a gallery. Raven Makes is a fine art space intended to provide opportunities and support for artists, ourselves and cultural communities as a whole. We want to engage our visitors and clients in exploring the outstanding beauty and integrity of Native American art forms as they add to their fine art collections. We visit communities, artist studios, and attend gatherings, ceremonies and art shows. We much appreciate our artists' hospitality, insight, and creative visions as we grow together as a gallery.

Our commitment and respect for our artists extends to our customers as well. Being fair to our artists allows us to offer reasonable prices on authentic, unique and beautiful art and craftwork. We hope you find your exceptional piece from our diverse and special collections.
